World-class angler, fly-fishing guide and casting expert Molly Semenik will be a guest instructor at the National Wild Turkey Federation's Women in the Outdoors event, Oct. 30, in Edgefield, S.C.

"Molly is one of the best instructors in the world and we're very lucky to have her with us in the CSRA to teach women about the excitement and challenge of fly-fishing," said Teresa Carroll, Women in the Outdoors coordinator. "We're also offering many other outdoor classes to participants. Women who come to our events always have a great time."

The ladies-only event will include activities such as archery, outdoor survival, Dutch oven cooking, shotgunning, candlemaking and more. A friendly, expert instructor will lead each class and people of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

Semenik, from Livingston, Mont., is a Certified Master Casting Instructor, owner of two fly-fishing businesses and a professional guide. At the Edgefield event, she will teach a fly-fishing class for beginners. The class is the perfect way for novices to learn how to cast, which rod and reel to use and how to choose the right fly.

The event lasts from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m at the NWTF's Wild Turkey Center, located at 770 Augusta Road. Registration costs just $60 and includes four classes, lunch, an opportunity to tour the NWTF's Winchester Museum and more.

Since 1998, NWTF volunteers have worked through the Women in the Outdoors program to share the outdoor tradition by providing expert instruction and hands-on education through events designed for women. Since its inception, Women In the Outdoors has hosted more than 4,000 events across the nation, including 240 events last year.
