Lady Predators capture third straight Region 4-A softball title

First Byline:
Staff Report

NORTH AUGUSTA - The Fox Creek High School Softball Team has won the Region 4-A title for the third year in a row.

The Lady Predators went undefeated in region and clinched the title on Wednesday with their win against Wagener-Salley High School.

"The bats are starting to come alive," said Coach Amanda Schneider. "We have had 30 hits in the last 17 innings of ball play. We need to keep that going heading into the District playoffs."

Senior left fielder Alexx Bugg and senior first baseman Lindsay Templeton are who Coach Schneider is looking at to share their playoff experience.

"We really want to defend the District IV title," stated Bugg.

Freshman catcher Micaela Bell and junior pitcher Danielle Payne will be ready with their strong pitcher-catcher combination.

"Danielle is coming on stronger as the season progresses," Schneider added.

Junior, Breanna Thomasson, at shortstop and freshman, Kristen Anderson, at third will help out both defensively and offensively as well as freshman pitcher Kayla Clem.

"They just have to play solid defense and put that bat on the ball in those key situations. They are ready, focused and driven to have back-to-back District titles," Coach Schneider said.
