JESSICA ALLEN/Wardlaw Correspondent

Everyone at Wardlaw has been very busy over the past week.

The High School Math Team traveled to Orangeburg last Wednesday to compete in the annual High School Math Competition.

The members of the team included: Caroline Herlong, Kevin Ginn, Ryan Terry, Anna Yarborough, Tony Keenan, Reid Miller, Victoria Cockrell, Jessica Allen, Brooke Padgett, Kara Beck, and Margaret Anne Christie. The high scorers from the team were Victoria Cockrell and Kevin Ginn.

Wardlaw's FCA had their monthly meeting last Thursday night. The speaker was Ms. Jennifer Parker. Her topic of discussion was "serving others".

She shared many stories about the different mission trips that she has taken over the past several years. She also showed the students many souvenirs that she has brought back from her trips and pictures that she had taken. About twenty students attended the meeting.

Everyone enjoyed listening to Ms. Parker, fellowshipping, and eating.

The FCA also hosted a bake sale last Saturday at the Basketball Fun Night.

This money will help pay for the expenses of the High School Garden City Beach Retreat in March.
There was a great turn out for the Advancement FundÕs Basketball Fun Night on Saturday. Everyone enjoyed talking with alumni and watching them compete in a basketball game.

Thanks to everyone who made the event possible!

"Doughnuts with Dad" was held Tuesday, January 27, in the canteen. Many of the elementary students gathered with their fathers and grandfathers to enjoy a variety of doughnuts and coffee!
Next Tuesday, February 3, students will be receiving interim reports.

The varsity girls and boys basketball teams defeated the Long Cane Academy Cavaliers last Friday night. These were region games. Both the junior varsity girls and boys competed against Cambridge Academy on Monday, January 26. All four of the basketball teams traveled to Newberry Academy to face the Eagles on Tuesday, January 27.

The junior varsity boys and both varsity teams will play Covenant Christian this Friday, January 30, in Columbia. The games will begin at 5.

Next Monday, February 2, both of the junior varsity teams will face Cambridge Academy. This game will be played in Greenwood. On February 3, all four of the basketball teams will face Laurens Academy.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. Be sure to come out and cheer on our Patriots.
