The top readers for the Merriwether Elementary Summer Reading Program were special guests of the administration for a recognition luncheon recently.

The students ate with Principal Wayne Marchant and Assistant Principal Patty Gibbs and Chris Britt.

Also present for the event was faculty-staff member LeAnn Fulmer.
 
Grade-level winners were: Pre-K-Allison Whitcomb; Kindergarten-Luci Marchant; 1st Grade-Win Whitcomb; 2nd Grade-Abby Powell; 3rd Grade-Meg Hoffmann; 4th Grade-Keely Marchant. Top Reader was Abby Powell with 13,926 pages. The school had a total of 113 readers who read a total of 259,986 pages in the summer project.
