Fox Creek Principal Elected to NEA Convention

Fox Creek High School Principal, Dr. Tim Murph, will be heading to San Diego, California in July to represent the South Carolina Education Association (SCEA) as its Supervisory Level State Delegate at the annual National Education Association (NEA) Convention.
Once again, Dr. Murph won the statewide election last February and will be heading to the convention to cast his vote on some of America’s most important educational issues. This will be Dr. Murph’s second consecutive term as a delegate.
This year’s convention marks the 147th Annual Meeting and 88th Representative Assembly of the NEA. The NEA is America's oldest and largest organization. Its Representative Assembly is the world’s largest democratic, deliberative body.
Delegates will be representing the nearly 3.2 million NEA members from across the country. The theme of the convention is NEA 2009: Hope Starts Here. Hundreds of companies, many on the Fortune 500 list, will be on hand to present innovations to educational programs and materials. The convention will last a week and will include dinners and events honoring educational reform and civil rights.
Dr. Murph explained, “I am privileged to have this opportunity to represent the thousands of SCEA members from across our state. Again this year, we have one of the finest delegations in the country. Our state is lucky to have Executive Director Aaron Wallace and his staff. The wisdom and passion for our kids that Aaron possesses is unsurpassed.”
