NORTH AUGUSTA - Fox Creek High School recently announced Tiffany Shepherd as its 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year.

The announcement was made at the North Augusta Optimist Club sponsored Teacher Appreciation Banquet. Mrs. Shepherd is a Government and Economics teacher in the Social Studies Department at the school.

She is involved in many activities at the school including Junior Class Sponsor, organizing prom, and instructing student council.

Mrs. Shepherd believes, “I am honored to have been nominated by my peers. We have an excellent faculty and staff at Fox Creek that have won multiple statewide awards, Golden Apples, and one has been the District Teacher of the Year. Too be chosen by these great educators to represent our school as the Teacher of the Year is quite an honor and I am humbled by their confidence in me.”

Tim Murph, Principal of Fox Creek stated, “I believe that Mrs. Shepherd personifies the Fox Creek spirit of working together to achieve great success. She is a role model not only for our students, but for our faculty and staff as well. I am very happy for Mrs. Shepherd and thank the North Augusta Optimist Club for sponsoring this event. They truly are a ‘Friend of Youth’.”
