Current Edgefield Weather |
We hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!
We sure did at Forest View. Windy Brown made fresh barbeque hash by request of Mary Alice Padgett. The weather was hot and sunny, made to order for a summer holiday. Jean Wells brought us some ice cream, Jean Padgett and Sara Jo Sherard provided cookies, and Nelva Temples chipped in with a congealed salad dessert. Thanks, folks, for making our holiday complete!
On Sunday, June 28th, the folks from McCormick Presbyterian Church came out and shared a worship and song service with us, accompanied by Michael Long on the piano. Joining him were Rev Eldredge Kelly, Vivian Kelly, Wilma Flanagan, and Kathy Delaney. Thank you for your faithfulness.
Last Sunday, Cleve West and Mike and Candy Green of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Abbeville were here to sing and lead us in worship. The residents thoroughly enjoy these folks and others coming to share their time in praise and worship.
It was a regular Locklair family reunion on the 26th of June as family members of James Locklair gathered to celebrate his birthday. Joining him were Jimmy, Jan, Kayce, Brianna, Dylan, Jason, James IV, and Lauren Locklair.
Tuesday, June 30th, Jack and Shirley Winn, Jean Price, and Ronald and Margaret Mock from Rehoboth Baptist Church came out and shared music and a devotion with our residents.
Carolyn Pettigrew and Carol Smith from Edgefield First Baptist were here last week visiting our Edgefield folks.
The family of Forest View Manor wishes to express our sympathy to the family of Earl Collier. We appreciate the Collier family and their love and attention to Carolyn Winn, and we pray God’s peace for them during this time.
We enjoyed a visit from Larry and Judy Yonce, family of former resident Elizabeth Holmes. They brought out a collection of large-print hardback novels to donate for the residents. Thank you so much, folks, the residents will get hours of pleasure from these.
Juanita Bartley, Ann Brewer, and Orene Strom came out Wednesday, joined by Lunette Christie, to lead our sing-a-long. Thanks, ladies, for your faithfulness.
Also visiting this week were Ricky and Nancy Padgett, Wanda Ouzts, Chris, Megan, and Mildred Cox, John, Don, Teresa, and Chris Atwell, Ann Barnhill, Betty Jackson, Laura, Dwayne, Emily, and Sara McKie, Johnny, Lucinda, and Edward Deason, Linda McClintock, Mary Adams, Marian Jones, Dalton Lariscey, Jo Burch, Gwen Sibert, Cornelia Collier, Kirby Deloach, Andy Lyle, Gaye and Thomas Holmes, Bryan Holmes, Tiffany Shiflett, Ronald Mock, Bob and Phyllis Gerber, Wendy Williams, Don and Ann Williams, Vivian Crawford, Donna Brooks, Linda Turner, Anne Carol Drennan, Elaine Baggett, and Janice Riley.
