Holmes wanted a Wii for his birthday.

He told us all about this amazing technology and how much fun it is. By the time he finished his sales pitch, we were all going to look like the centerfold in Extreme Fit magazine.

We got everything hooked up and I must say the Wii is amazing. There is Wii Fit, Wii shoot, Wii every-sport including Wii tennis.  Holmes, my un-athletic child had the highest scores in almost every sport. 

He challenged me to a game of Wii tennis and decimated me. I kept insisting that this was not at all like real tennis. 

But the tennis bug bit. I decided to re-enter the world of tennis and called Richard Shirley. Richard is the hubby of Johnston-Harmony minister, Becky Shirley. Richard has been a wonderful addition to my tennis revival. 

Richard and Becky have a lot in common.

From the pulpit to the tennis court, both share LOVE. Becky serves Johnston/Harmony and Richard serves a tennis ball in perfect form. Richard teaches lessons to improve your game and Becky teaches how to improve at the game of life. Both teach how to overcome “faults.” 

True to life, after we try and fail, at the end of each lesson, Richard and I pick up the tennis balls and try again.  Becky also teaches us not to give up on living the Christian life. 

Richard refers to the tennis manual and Becky refers to Biblical principles for success. Becky and Richard teach us to have a ball on the tennis court and in the game of living. 

My hope is that we will all score well and play a good honest game.  Remember that winning is not so much the final score but placing value in serving, correcting faults and walking in LOVE.
