When I recorded my first album, you know the large flat disc resembling a pizza; I recorded a song entitled,  “I Choose to Be Happy.”

Although it is a children’s song with cutesy lyrics, I have been rewinding that song in my head.
We have opportunities to be sad everyday. When it seems like nothing in the world is working out our way. That’s when we have a choice to make, we can laugh or we can cry all day. Or we can make a funny face. And laugh about it and say, Oh I choose to be happy.

Happiness is a choice.   

The healthiest people I know focus on the positive. I have had to learn this throughout my life and re-train my thinking from childhood.

My daddy had about four weeks to make a living.  During the months of June and July tomato season was in full swing. This was the most intense time of the year on our family farm. The midst of tomato season was like living in a pressure cooker. If you have ever used a pressure cooker, there is a small medal ornament we called “the little man.” When the pot was in full pressure mode, we would say, “The little man is dancing!”  That ornament would shake uncontrollably! This is about how we all acted under pressure!
