William Thomas "Tommy" Anderson
Mr. William Thomas "Tommy" Anderson, 74, of Trenton, husband of 25 years to Beverly Ann Anderson and son of the late Lawrence and Florrie Estelle Blackston Anderson, died Sunday, June 28, 2009.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, North Augusta, with Dr. Larry Brown officiating. Burial with military honors accorded by the U.S. Army Honor Guard followed in Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville. Pallbearers were his nephews. Members of the Pipefitters and Steamfitters Local $150 served as honorary pallbearers.
Born in Grovetown, Ga., Mr. Anderson had been an area resident all his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #150 after 56 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, where he was a member of Dr. Brown's Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Sandra Anderson Bell (Steve), Graniteville, Kimberly Anderson Branham (Brad), Martinez, Ga., Wayne Anderson (Tracie), North Augusta, Russ Anderson, North Augusta, and Steve Anderson (Elizabeth), Evans, Ga.; siblings, Lawrence Anderson Jr. (Barbara), Augusta, Ga., Isabell Snellings and Peggy Poole, both of Grovetown, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund.
Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, was in charge of arrangements.
