Thomas Davis 'Tom' Holstein

Memorial services for Mr. Thomas Davis “Tom” Holstein, of Monetta, will be conducted Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Batesburg, with the Revs. Jackie Connelly and John Kneece officiating. The family will receive friends at his home on Wednesday, June 24, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Holstein died Sunday, June 21. Born in Richland County on Aug. 29, 1948, he was a son of the late Louise Jefferies and Richard Henry Holstein Jr. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, the S.C. Farm Bureau and the S.C. Peach Council. He served on state committees for both the Farm Bureau and the Peach Council. He was a graduate of Clemson University in agronomy, a U.S. Army veteran serving as a second lieutenant and a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Carson Holstein; daughters, Kristin H. (Terry) Moore, Columbia, Dr. Ashlyn H. (Dr. Andrew) Savage, Charleston, Carson Elizabeth and Helen Jefferies Holstein of Monetta; brothers, R.H. “Dick” Holstein, Monetta, M. Jeff Holstein, North;; a sister, Mary H. Derrick, Johnston; and his grandsons, Connor Thomas Moore and Andrew John Savage V.
