Queen Ester Briggs, of Ridge Spring, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m. at Church of God in Johnston.

Surviving are four sons, Lorenzo Briggs, Carl Michael Briggs, Cornell Briggs and Herman Briggs; a daughter, Joyce B. Gibson; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mammie Blocker, Mary Ella Anderson and Rosa Ada Anderson; two brothers, Willie Nicholson and Isiah Nicholson Jr.
