Minnie Mae Watson Attaway
Mrs. Minnie Mae Watson Attaway, 81, of Daniel Avenue in Johnston, widow of M.C. Attaway, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Mattie Lee Richardson. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, the WHAS #41, and was a retired employee of Milliken.
She is survived by three sons, Morris C. Attaway, Houston, Texas, Dexter L. Attaway, Dallas, Texas, and John F. Attaway, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Bertha (George) Hammonds, Johnston, and Ida Mae Nicholson, Edgefield; brother, Morris Watson Jr., Saluda; two sisters, Annie R. Townsend, Washington, D.C. and Nora Bell Robinson, Saluda; two granddaughters reared in the home, Teresa Attaway and MeLinda Attaway, both of Aiken; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda was in charge of arrangements.
