Mary Ellen Ferrell Pittman

Mrs. Mary Ellen Ferrell Pittman, 82, of Wayland Street in Warrenville, died Saturday, May 22, 2010.
Funeral services celebrating her life were held Monday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church in Clearwater, with Pastor Tad Marshall and the Rev. Bill Reese officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery in Augusta, Ga.

Mrs. Pittman was born in Augusta, Ga. on July 11, 1927 to the late Herman F. Farrell and Rosa Lee (Usry) Ferrell. She was known as Mother, Momma, Nanny, Nina and May-May and retired from South Aiken Baptist Church after 25 years of dedicated service.

She was a charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church (formerly Piney Heights Baptist Church) where she was a member for over 41 years of which she worked in the nursery for over 33 years. She was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pittman will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will always be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Paulette Pittman, Warrenville, and Judy (Jeff) Davis, Beech Island; three grandchildren, Michael (Shelia) Rosier, Trenton, Mark (Camille) Rosier, Graniteville, and Becky Rosier, North Augusta; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Griffin, Sara Rosier and Dylan Rosier; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Flo Harveston, DeAlice Strickland, Frankie (Collene) Price, Robert (Annette) McFarland, Gene (Dorothy) Youngblood, John (Bobbie) Futch, Michael (Ann) Coursey, Silas (Sarah) Pittman, and Tillman A. Harper.
