Margaret Ann Hibbs Tuten
Ms. Margaret Ann Hibbs Tuten, 76, of Old Orangeburg Road in Estill, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her residence.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Edgefield First Baptist Church in Edgefield, conducted by the Rev. Stacey Williams.
Born April 24, 1932 in Vine Grove, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Charles Owen Hibbs and Mary Davis Hibbs. She had taught school in Trenton, Edgefield, and Estill Middle School in Estill. She attended Western Kentucky University and earned a B.S. and M.Ed. in education from Augusta College. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Sorority, the Order of the Eastern Star and was of the Baptist faith.
She was married to Curtis Tuten until 1988.
She is survived by her children, Bill Tuten and his fiancé Tina Hampton of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Bob and Janice Tuten of Liberty; two brothers, John Hibbs of Lexington, Ky. and Bill Hibbs of Vine Grove, Ky.; two sisters, Marycharles Howe of Hartford, Conn. and Susan Hibbs of Lamoine, Maine; two grandchildren, Michelle and Kevin Tuten; and special friends, Tim and Marilyn Tyler of Estill.
Memorial services will be held today, March 11, in Vine Grove, Ky.
