TRENTON - Mr. Leslie Shults Layman, 65, of Youngblood Road in Trenton, husband of Judy Hendrick Layman, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Edgefield County Hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at Living Word Fellowship in Trenton.

Mr. Layman was a native of Newport, Tenn. and was a member of Living Word Fellowship. He was a retired lineman with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Shannon Philpot, Trenton, a daughter, Tracy White, Trenton; three grandchildren, Rachel, David and Ryan.
