Leroy Walker

Mr. Leroy Walker, 53, of Johnson Road in North Augusta, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at Mealing Grove
Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmie Dyson officiating. Burial was in
the church cemetery.
Mr. Walker, a 1973 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, was a U.S.
Air Force veteran. He was a member of Mealing Grove Baptist Church
where he served on the deacons ministry and choir ministry.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Wigfall Walker; a daughter,
Keisha Walker; a son, Steven Walker; his father, Roosevelt Walker Sr.;
two brothers, Roosevelt (Polly) Walker Jr., and John Henry Walker; four
grandchildren; godchildren, Janaeshia McKie and Antonio Grant; an aunt,
Frances Glover; five uncles, Butler Walker, Bill Walker, Willie (Min.
Bea) Lee, Grady Lee and Lawrence Lee; and a host of other relatives.
G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, North Augusta, was in charge of arrangements.
