James William Gibson
Funeral services for Mr. James William Gibson, 84, of Johnston, were held Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gibson, a native of Edgefield County, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009. He was the son of the late William Franklin and Mattie Hair Gibson. He was a retired farmer and was also retired from SCE&G. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of American Legion Post 154 and Kadosh Masonic Lodge 181. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Newton Gibson; a daughter, Mary Katherine Gibson, Aiken; sons, James W. Gibson Jr. (Jo), Thomas H. Gibson (Melanie), H. Michael Gibson (Dixie), and William A. Gibson (Beth); grandchildren, Nickolas, Jessica, Perrin, LeAnn, Rucker and Garrett Gibson.

Bland Funeral Home, Johnston, was in charge of arrangements.
