James 'Holley' Mayson

Mr. James “Holley” Mayson, 65, of Sloan Drive in Edgefield, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at his home.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 22, at 3 p.m. at Bold Spring Baptist Church. Burial was in Bold Spring Cemetery in Callison.
Born in Edgefield County, he was a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School Class of 1962, a retired car salesman, a member of 1st Baptist Honea Path, and served in the National Guard in Edgefield.
Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Cogburn Mayson, Greenwood; two daughters, Amy M. Laidlaw, Greenwood, and Heather M. Campbell, Greer; a sister, Beth Mayson Hyman, Greenwood; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.H. Mayson.
Strom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
