Mr. Harris E. Medlock Sr., 84, husband of Cordelia D. Medlock, of W. Martintown Road in North Augusta, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in the Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Louis Anderson and Eric Burton officiating. Burial was in Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Medlock was a native of Edgefield County, having made North Augusta his home. He was a lifelong member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post #71 and had retired from Babcock and Wilcox as a machinist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Harris E. Medlock Jr. (Robin W.) of Augusta, Ga.; one granddaughter, Amy Medlock-Greene (Joe); two great-grandchildren, J.P. Greene and Ian Greene, all of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
