Harriett Jean Bell

Harriett Jean Bell, wife of Don Wagner and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Bell of Ward, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. She and her husband lived in Smyrna, Ga.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Johnston Presbyterian Church with burial in Mt. of Olives Cemetery.

Harriett attended Darlington School, Rome, Ga., Converse College and graduated from the University of South Carolina. She worked in Washington, D.C. for the Senate Judiciary Committee for several years. She returned to South Carolina and worked for Bank of America. Later she graduated from Midland Technical College, School of Nursing, and moved to Atlanta and worked for Shephard Spinal Clinic. She was a member of Johnston Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by brothers, William Bell (Jenny), Ward, Harry Bell Jr. (Carol), Columbia; and James A. Bell (Dolores), Canal-Winchester, Ohio; niece, Catherine Bell; nephews, Satcher and Corey Bell, and Tyler and David Mercer.
