Mrs. Bennie Mae Turner
Bledsoe, 90, widow of Perry Ransom Bledsoe, of Saluda, died Sunday, Feb. 1,
2009 at Saluda Nursing Center.
A memorial service was held
Sunday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. at Bland Funeral Home Chapel in Johnston, with the
Rev. Vernon Odelle Anderson officiating.
Born June 1, 1918 in Saluda
County, she was the second daughter of Ben and Mamie Emma Harrison Turner. She
was a longtime member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and was an active
participant in the Church Women’s Missionary Union.
Surviving are three daughters,
Annette B. Anderson and husband the Rev. Vernon Odell Anderson, Laurens, Cora
Elizabeth Murdaugh and husband Wade Howard Murdaugh, Leesville, and Dora Mae
“Dolly” Evans and husband Dr. Forest Luke Evans Sr., Bishopville; eight
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Miriam T. Rushton, Ninety Six;
and a brother, Richard C. Turner, Johnston.
