Andrew Cook

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Andrew Cook, 86, of Lost Wilderness Road in Clarks Hill, who died Monday, May 25, 2009, was conducted Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Father Tim Lijewski, celebrant.

Mr. Cook was a native of St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada, having made Clarks Hill his home for the past 13 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church; a Canadian Air Force veteran of World War II where he served a s tailgunner; and a retired Ironworker with Local Union #9 of Niagara Falls, N.Y.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of which he received the Pilgrim Degree in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Lila G. Cook; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Cook, Tampa Fla., Roderick and Emily Cook, Atlanta, Ga., Clarence and Traci Lawson, Oil City, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Mike Anderson, Amherst, N.Y., Laura and Hank Conley, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Anne Homer, St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Canada; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Franchuk Cook; three brothers; and a sister. The Vigil Service was conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 6 p.m.
