Rosie Carroll
Mrs. Rosie Carroll, of Edgefield Road in North Augusta, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at University Hospital .
The Mass of Christian Burial and Prayer Vigil were celebrated Tuesday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with Father Cherian Thalakulam, celebrant. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park .
Survivors include her sons, Hughie Carroll, Johnny Carroll and Bryan Carroll; a daughter, Ann McNally and her son-on-law, Pat McNally.
Rowland Funeral Home, North Augusta , was in charge of arrangements.
Rosa Bell “Little Bit” Griffin
Mrs. Rosa Bell "Little Bit" Griffin , 89, of Ellis Street in Edgefield, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Edgefield, with the Rev. Edward Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Griffin, a native of Edgefield County , was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church . Survivors include three daughters, Earline Smiley, Fort St. John, Fla., Richard (Willie) Parks and Dianne (Arthur) Parks, Aiken; two sons, Donald (Betty) Griffin, Edgefield, and the Rev. Michael (Zenobia) Griffin, Oviedo, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elease Patten and Jessie Mae (Rev. Sam) Middleton; and a host of other relatives.

David A. Herrin
Funeral services for Mr. David A. Herrin, 63, of Johnston , were held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church , with burial in Mt. of Olives Cemetery.
Mr. Herrin, a native of Johnston , died Saturday, May 8. He was a son of the late James D and Ruby Claxton Herrin and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a security guard with Sizemore Security and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church .
Survivors include cousins.

Thurmond Gregory “Greg” Lewis
Memorial services for Mr. Thurmond Gregory "Greg" Lewis, 59, of Currytown Road in North Augusta, who died Monday, May 3, 2010, were conducted Wednesday, May 5, at 4 p.m. at Bel-Ridge Baptist Church , with the Rev. Earl Welch officiating.
Mr. Lewis was a native of Aiken, having made North Augusta his home for the past 35 years. He was a member of Bel-Ridge Baptist Church , employed by Prayon, Inc. and an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Judy Lewis; a son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Cara Lewis, North Augusta; a daughter, Tonya Lewis, Lexington; three grandchildren, Hope Lewis, Laura Lewis and Bethany Lewis; two brothers, Larry E. Lewis, Ridge Spring, and Carlos Lewis, North Augusta; and a sister, Marilyn Swearingen, Greensboro, N.C.

Edward John Martin
Mr. Edward John Martin, 50, of Trenton , died Friday, May 7, 2010 at his residence.
A memorial service was held at his home on Tuesday, May 11, at 11 a.m.
Born in Riverdale , Md. , he was a son of Mrs. Marion Kendall Martin, North Augusta, and the late Henry L. Martin and had lived in Trenton most of his life and worked at Old McDonald’s Catfish Farm. He enjoyed his land and his animals and was well known for building models, especially trains.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Ruth Taylor and Cathy Martin, both of North Augusta, and Therese Carver, St. Augustine , Fla. ; and two brothers, Dennis Martin and Hank Martin, both of North Augusta.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by two brothers, William Henry Martin and David Thomas Martin.

Gladys Adams McKie
Mrs. Gladys Adams McKie, 81, of Groves , North Augusta, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Trinity Hospital .
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Old Piney Grove Baptist Church in Edgefield, with the Rev. Louis T. Coley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McKie, a native of Edgefield, was a member of Willow Spring Baptist Church in Edgefield.
Survivors are eight daughters, Johnnie Mae Day, Eunice M. Hampton (Timothy), Lydia M. McKinney (Isaac), Marion M. Jones (Ralph), G. Gardenia McKie, Vivian M. Price (Richard), Blandenia M. Jones (Rudy), Anita D. Bryant (James); a son, Garnett McKie (Jinia); a sister, Sadie Adams; a brother, Lee Adams; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Endia Mims
Mrs. Endia Mims, 71, of Ridge Road in North Augusta, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta , Ga.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church , with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mims, a native of Edgefield County , was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church , where she served on the Usher's Ministry and the Deaconess Ministry.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Milledge, Jr.) Callaham and Marilyn Mims; six sons, Argentina Mims, Herbert Mims, John (Kimberly) Mims, Henry J. (Machell) Mims, Jonathan (Katrina) Mims and Marcus Mims; five sisters, Luvina McKie, Alesa (James) Crawford, Susie (David) Williams, Mary (Robert) Freeman, and Ruth (Herman) McKie; a brother, J.C. (Ida) Mims; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Glennie Lybrand Yonce
Funeral services for Mrs. Glennie Lybrand Yonce, 89, of Johnston , were held Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church , with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Yonce, a native of Edgefield County , died Thursday, May 6. She was a daughter of the late Tommie Tigue and Tura Satcher Lybrand. During Mrs. Yonce's life she had various occupations including secretary at Graniteville Company, home economist with the Clemson Extension Service, and she had worked in the Edgefield County Magistrate's office and Sheriff's office. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church .
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Y. Goodwin (Bruce), Canal Winchester , Ohio ; a son, H.K. Yonce, Jr. (Debbie), Johnston; a brother, Tommy T. Lybrand Jr., Aiken; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman K. Yonce Sr.
