James L. “PD” Brighthop

Mr. James L. “PD” Brighthop , 87, of Brighthop Road in Trenton, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Young Macedonia Baptist Church, with Pastor Allen L. Transou presiding and the Rev. G.L. Brightharp officiating. Burial was in Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brighthop, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Young Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on the deacon’s ministry for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Simmon Lodge 3A.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Broadwater Brighthop; a son, Chester (Lenora) Brighthop; three daughters, Frances Brighthop, Bridges Mealing, and Cookie (Preston) Sykes; a brother, Johnny (Mary) Brighthop; two sisters, Rosa Mae Coleman and Fannie Christie; a goddaughter, Lorraine (Lionel) Williams; a sister-in-law, Viola Brightharp; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, North Augusta, was in charge of arrangements.
 
Edward Joseph Carroll
Mr. Edward Joseph Carroll, of Danby Court in North Augusta, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.
Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Beatrice Glover

Ms. Beatrice Glover, 73, of Trenton, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Ms. Glover, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Science Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Terrie (Murdock) Frazier, Beverly (Calvin) Gilchrist, all from Trenton; two sons, Aaron (Delfuni) Glover, Saluda, Steven (Roberta) Glover, Columbia; three sisters, Annie Jefferson and Mary (Hayward) Bibbs, Trenton, Florence (Tommy) Miles, North Augusta; four brothers, Odell (Mildred) Glover and Albert Glover, Trenton, Tommy (Gloria) Glover, North Augusta, Jimmie (Annette) Glover, Aiken,; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Friends may call at the residence of Terrie (Murdock) Frazier, 3312 Hwy. 19, Trenton.
G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, Edgefield, is in charge of arrangements.
 
Mamie L. Gordon

Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie L. Gordon, 88, of Hwy. 378 East, Edgefield, were held Friday, March 19, 2010 at Pleasant Lane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Melvin L. Gordon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Daniel M. “Danny” Hardee

Mr. Daniel M. “Danny” Hardee, 46, of Trenton, husband of 14 years to Paula Glisson Hardee and son of the late William Bryant and Ada Gertrude Pridgen Hardee, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at his home.
At his request, he was cremated and a memorial service to celebrate his life was held Thursday, March 18, at 3 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, with Pastor Michael Glisson, brother-in-law, officiating.
Born in Augusta, Ga. and a resident of Clearwater most of his life, he moved to Trenton six months ago. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, North Augusta, and prior to his health declining, he was a plumber. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching his favorite NASCAR driver, Mark Martin. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, family members include a stepson, Anthony Medlock, Graniteville; brothers, Tim Hardee (Dixie), Spartanburg, and Michael Hardee, Grovetown, Ga.; special cousins who were more like sisters, Lena Baker, Edgefield, and Janet Arnold, North Augusta; and a special red-headed granddaughter, Symantha Medlock, who adored her Pappy.
Memorials in memory of Danny may be made to Trinity Hospice.

Donald L. Middleton

Mr. Donald L. Middleton, 55, of W. Hugh Street, North Augusta, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, North Augusta, with the Rev. Ulysses Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Mealing Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence of his mother, Sweetola Middleton, 514 Heil Drive, North Augusta.
Mr. Middleton, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Mealing Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Latoya Mays, Augusta, Ga. and Jasmine Harmon, Belvedere; a son, Jamez Harmon, Belvedere; his mother, Sweetola Middleton, North Augusta; his father, Clarence Middleton, Jamaica, N.Y.; five sisters, Doris T. Middleton, North Augusta, Joanne Walker, Augusta, Ga., Jeanette (Ira) Martin, Gwendolyn Ardis, and Jacqueline Hazel, North Augusta; two brothers, Willie James Middleton and Wesley Leon Middleton, North Augusta; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
