Dorothy ‘Dot’ McCary Cook

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” McCary Cook, 77, of Edgefield, wife of the late Henry Cook, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2010 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funerla Home. Burial was in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield.
Mrs. Cook was a native of Edgefield County and was a member of Edgefield Church of God. She was a retired textile worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Miller and Lisa Lee, both of Hephzibah, Ga., and Fay Benton, Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Ruby McCary, Edgefield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Edgefield Church of God, P.O. Box 86, Edgefield, SC 29824.

Ricky Jamison

Funeral services for Ricky Jamison, of Johnston, were held Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Amos & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, Larry Jamison, Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Minnie (Eddie Sinclair) Jamison, Spartanburg; an aunt, Gracie Jamison, Johnston; and an uncle, Jack Jones, Philadelphia, Pa.

Kevin Dale McGee

Mr. Kevin Dale McGee, 31, of Beech Island Avenue in Beech Island, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church in Johnston. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. McGee was born in Augusta, Ga. and he attended the Second Baptist Church in Beech Island.
Survivors include his parents, Roger and Martha Smith McGee, Warrenville; a brother, Keith (Leslie) McGee, Warrenville; two sisters, Michelle (Tracy) Wright and Kimberly (Hamer) McGee; nieces, Hannah McGee, Sarah McGee and Isabella Wright; and nephews, Caleb Wright and Aaron Owenby.

Marshall Meriwether Sr.

Mr. Marshall Meriwether Sr., 83, of Courtney Road in Trenton, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. at Poplar Spring Baptist Church, with the Revs. Donnell Meriwether and Edward Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Meriwether, a native of Edgefield County, was a member and deacon of Poplar Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalee Boyd Meriwether; three daughters, Dianna Negron, Doris Meriwether, Trenton, and Connie Meriwether, Brooklyn, N.Y.; six sons, Sylvester Meriwether (Diane), Trenton, William Meriwether (Janet), Marshall Meriwether (Tauliba), Alex Meriwether (Lisa), Lance Meriwether (Kim), Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jeffery Meriwether, Queens, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Lizzie Meriwether, Trenton; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Meriwether, Trenton, and Katie Thurmond, Evans, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Henry Boyd, Clarks Hill; 44 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Virginia Elizabeth Minton

Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Minton, 79, of Jasper Road in Modoc, who died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 were conducted Friday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Los officiated.
Mrs. Minton was a native of Baltimore, Md., having made Modoc her home for the past 43 years. She was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church and had retired from Federal Pacific.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Lee Gilbert, North Augusta; a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Nancy Minton, Modoc; a brother, Wallace “Buddy” Grogg, Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, David Percival, Richard Percival, Douglas Percival, Wallace Percival; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a former son-in-law, Jimmy Percival, Modoc.
Mrs. Minton was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Minton.

Tillman David Rodgers Sr.

Mr. Tillman David Rodgers Sr., of Johnston, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at Edgefield County Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Edgefield Church of Gd, with burial in Travis Park Cemetery in Saluda.
Mr. Rodgers was born in Saluda County and was of the Catholic faith. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and was a retired textile worker.
Survivors include a son, James A. (Buster) Rodgers, Edgefield, a daughter, Mary Lena Shealy, Saluda; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Tommy Jude Sherlock

Tommy Jude Sherlock, of St. Anthony Street in North Augusta, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.
The Mass of Christian Burial and Prayer Vigil were held Monday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, with Father Cherian Thalakulam, celebrant. Burial was in Pineview Memorial Park.

Elizabeth Sanders Thomas

Mrs. Elizabeth Sanders Thomas, wife of the late Melvin Hue Thomas, of North Augusta, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Westwood Nursing Home.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Belvedere First Baptist Church and had retired from King Mill after 35 years of service. She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her son, Everett Thomas (Julie), North Augusta; two sisters, Ann Mitchell (Charles), Orange Beach, Fla., and Mary Rikard, Trenton; and a grandson, Travis Smith.

Susie Mae Williams

Susie Mae Williams, 74, of Johnston, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at Lockhart Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Stevens and the late John Bennett. She was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church.
She is survived by five sons, Thomas (Bessie) Williams Jr., Jerry Williams and Stevens Williams, all of Saluda, Johnny (Katherine) Williams, Trenton, and Ricky Williams, Greenwood; two daughters, Patsy Williams and Denise Williams, both of Saluda; stepmother, Thelma J. Burt; 11 brothers, Henry B. Stevens, Coral Johnson, Willie T. Johnson, Julius Johnson, James D. Johnson, Billy Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Cornell Johnson, David Bennett, John A. Bennett, John A. Bennett and Samuel Bates; 11 sisters, Diane Graham, Shelia Williams, Annette Johnson, Loretta Williams, Drusilla Harris, Annie L. Bennett, Roberta Bellow, Diane Green, Ethel Shine, Gloria Lott and Geraldine Spencer; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
