TRENTON – A local man died late Saturday evening near the 1100 block of Augusta Road after he was shot during an altercation at his home.

Don Robert Boyd, Jr., 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tammy Renee Boatwright, 47, has been arrested and has been charged with murder and the unlawful possession of a firearm following the incident.

The altercation took place on the 1100 block of Augusta Road in Trenton at Mr. Boyd’s residence just before 11:30 p.m. when a 911 caller stated that shots had been fired and a person had been injured. The investigation found that three shots had been fired from a .38 caliber revolver, with two of the shots striking Mr. Boyd in the chest.

Details are unclear as to the specific causes of the shooting, although police reports state that the two had been arguing during the day and that the dispute had escalated.
