An armed robbery at an Augusta gas station led to a two-county chase that ended with deputies from Aiken and Richmond counties eventually disabling the vehicle and arresting two men and a juvenile.

Richmond County sheriff's Sgt. Robbie Silas said the three, one of whom was armed with a shotgun, are believed to have robbed the Circle K gas station at Wheeler Road and Interstate 20 at about 6:15 a.m., then fled to Edgefield, S.C., where they robbed the Dodge's Store on U.S. Highway 25. Edgefield authorities chased the vehicle back into Richmond County on I-20, where Richmond deputies picked up the chase.

"We took over the chase at the state line," Silas said. Deputies pursued the car down the Interstate 520 to Sand Bar Ferry Road and back into Aiken County. Deputies used stop sticks to puncture the vehicle's tires and disable it at Urquhart Drive and took the suspects into custody after a foot-chase.

John Fitzgerald Hall, of Augusta; Corderall Stallings, of Beech Island; and the juvenile, who is from Columbia, face armed robbery and traffic charges, Silas said.
