Staff Report

Once again, the people of Edgefield County have shown their generosity and care for the less fortunate.

As they have done each year, Sarah's Santa had their annual Rummage Sale/Raffle. This year they expanded this event with a bake sale and the sale of Hamburg & Hot Dog plates.

There was also face painting as well as games for the children. This year the event was held at the American Legion Hut and was a huge success. The people of Edgefield County donated items for the rummage sale as well as un-wrapped toys.

People from all over the county came out in large numbers to buy rummage sale items, Hamburg & Hot Dog plates, cookies, coffee & hot chocolate; but basically these folks came out to support this worthwhile charity and to make sure those in need will experience a joyful Christmas.

Enough cannot be said of the good and caring people in this county, you all should be proud of yourselves.

It should be noted that Sarah's Santa is still accepting unwrapped toys and donations.

If anyone would like to donate, they can contact Debbie Courtney at JET Middle School. There are so many who helped and contributed to this cause, that to name them all would not be possible.

But Sarah's Santa would like to take this opportunity to thank some of the business in the area who showed their generosity; Fairway Food Center, Bi-Lo, The Law Office of Ronnie Maxwell, and the Edgefield Chapter of the American Legion for generous donation of the use of the Legion Hut.

But truly, most of all, it is the "giving hearts" of the people of Edgefield that help bring joy to those in need during this most holy of holidays. Sarah's Santa thanks you all and hopes that each and everyone of you have a safe and joyous Christmas.
