This past week, Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church had their annual Vacation Bible School. Like many other churches around the county, this year’s theme was Saddle Ridge Ranch.

All of the attendants this year were known as certain people. The children were called cowpokes, the teachers and workers were called ranch hands and the director was called the trail boss. The classes ranged from babies to adults this year. This year was the first time in a long time that the adults had a class of their own.

Each day the children would go to different rotations during this past week, these rotations were: assembly/missions, crafts, and music. On day three, instead of going to crafts, the children got a visit from Edward and Vanna Doolittle of Cross Creek Rodeo Co. in Saluda, SC. The children, teachers, and workers had fun sitting on Tulsa, one of the Cross Creek Rodeo horses. Tulsa was in the Kentucky Derby a few years ago.

Besides sitting on Tulsa and getting their pictures taken with him, the children got to learn how to rope a cow. The night ended with the children and some workers being roped by Mr. Edward Doolittle and Mr. Jeff Andrews. Commencement for Vacation Bible School was held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. with a homemade ice cream social followed afterward.

The children had several choices of ice cream to choose from, such as Neapolitan, Rainbow Sherbert, Pineapple, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Peach.
