'Movies on the Square' returns to Edgefield
The Edgefield Community Development Association (ECDA) and the Town of Edgefield are excited to bring back the “Downtown Drive-In” summer movie series. The movie series brought hundreds of people to Edgefield’s downtown square last summer and good fun was had by all.
This year the “Downtown Drive-In” will kick off a four movie series with the 1971 classic “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” featuring Gene Wilder. The movie will begin on Edgefield’s downtown square at dusk this Friday, May 29th. Activities for the whole family will start at 8pm. Concessions will be available for purchase on the square with proceeds benefiting the Strom Thurmond High School band. Remember to bring something comfy to sit on!
This movie is sponsored by Dr. Beth Gordineer. All of the “Downtown Drive-In” movies this summer are free to the public because of generous donors like Dr. Gordineer. If you would like to sponsor a movie or volunteer to help with future “Downtown Drive-In” movie activities, please contact Sharon at (803) 637-3400.
