Horn's Creek Cemetery Restoration Project update

Many people have expressed interest in the preservation and upkeep of the Horn's Creek Cemetery. This group has officially been dubbed "Friends of Horn's Creek Cemetery."

We need more interested persons on our list so let us know if you care to be included.

In our bid to raise money for this project, we are offering for sale a newly transcribed booklet entitled, "The Old Stage Road: A Social History of Horn's Creek." This history was first published in a nine-part series by Nancy Mims and was published in The Edgefield Advertiser, The Ridge Citizen and the Edgefield News. Suzanne Gile Mims Derrick graciously granted permission for the reprint of this series.

The booklet has an introduction by Dr. Julian Mims, son of the author; is completely indexed; and has some recent photos included. A new map with family locations has been created.

We thank Dr. Judith Russell of Bogart, Ga. for the reprinting of this booklet. All proceeds will go toward the Horn's Creek Cemetery Clean-up Project.
