Edgefield Teen One Of Two Charged In Aiken Home Invasion
AIKEN - Two teenagers have been charged with first degree burglary and four counts of attempted murder after invading an Aiken home Tuesday night, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers and Aiken Public Safety responded to the home invasion at 158 Sharyn Lane just before 10 p.m. The residents said three men knocked on the door and forced their way inside when the door was opened.
One suspect ran to a bedroom as if they were looking for someone or something, one resident said. Another was armed with at least two hand guns.
The residents ran out of the home, with the suspects shortly fleeing behind them. The suspects fired seven shots at the residents as they left.
The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking team apprehended two of the suspects within a few hours.
Caleb Hill, 19, of the 200 block of Scurry Lane in Edgefield and Dequan Shakale Holmes, 16, of the 500 block of Silver Bluff Road were arrested and booked at the Aiken County Detention Center.
Officers are still searching for the third suspect.
