Visitors are invited to explore historic Edgefield this weekend for the final seasonal event of Heritage Holidays 2010.  The Holly-Day Sales Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 18th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

Explorers and shoppers are invited to take advantage of last minute shopping and the deals that go right along with it.  Many stores will feature one day specials while others will still have unique gifts for that special someone on the list.  Restaurants, gift shops, and art studios will be open to celebrate the holiday season with visitors to the downtown district. 

“The holiday season in Edgefield has brought many new faces to our historic downtown,” stated Sharon Nunamaker, president of the Edgefield Community Development Association.  She added, “And, our regular customers continue to be loyal to many of our merchants.  We encourage everyone to stop in to our downtown shops and restaurants during this holiday season and throughout the year.” 

Sponsored by the Edgefield Community Development Association (ECDA), the Edgefield County Hospital, the Town of Edgefield and the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor, Holly-Day Sales Celebration is one of many events in the 2010 Heritage Holidays campaign for downtown Edgefield.  During this campaign the community comes together in an effort to raise awareness of the many local places to visit, shop and dine in Historic Edgefield.

Also this weekend, Kringle’s Window, the kick off to the Edgefield County Theatre Company’s 2010-2011 season, will continue.  Tickets are still available by calling (803) 637-3833.  The performance takes place in the Discovery Center theatre.
