RESCEDULING OF REGULAR MEETING OF EDGEFIELD COUNTY COUNCIL – The regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. has been changed to: Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m.

Christ’s Kids Praise Team and Bible Drill during the 11 a.m. worship service; hotdog cook-out at noon; games, water play and crafts. Kids bring your swimsuits, towel and a change of clothes. Speakers from each surrounding school district, Sheriff’s Department, special guest Sister Tammie W. Johnson as “Sister Q,” and motivational speaker Alicia Martin, director of Edgefield County Alternative School. Praise dance groups will perform.

FREE EDUCATION PROGRAM BY THE ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION – Thursday, Aug. 5, 10:20 a.m., Edgefield County Senior Center. This one-hour program will feature information on memory loss, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and basic information on diagnosis and treatment. Public invited.
