MONTHLY GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP MEETING – Third Wednesday of each month, 10:30 a.m., Chapel of Edgefield County Hospital. Offered by Hospice Care of South Carolina to local residents who have experienced the loss of a loved one or friend. Contact Rev. DIABETIC SUPPORT GROUP – A new Diabetic Support Group is starting up and you are invited to attend. The meetings will be held at the Edgefield County Hospital Conference Room at 3 p.m. on the following Thursdays: September 23rd, October 21st and November 18th.

NEW FIFTH SUNDAY SERVICE – Sunday School, 9:30 a.m., Youth-Focused Worship service, 11 a.m., Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Edgefield. Additional back-to-school supplies give-away after this fifth Sunday service. Everyone welcome.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUNDAY – Aug. 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ebenezer Baptist Church, Trenton. Christ’s Kids Praise Team and Bible Drill during the 11 a.m. worship service; hotdog cook-out at noon; games, water play and crafts. Kids bring your swimsuits, towel and a change of clothes. Each student and teacher will receive a back-to-school gift.

FOOD PANTRY- Third Tuesday of each month (except December) from 9-11 a.m., Cornerstone Community Church, Highway 25, Edgefield County. Eligibility based on household income. Requirements: Social Security numbers for all household members, Picture ID, Proof of household income, Proof of address. Cornerstone Food Pantry does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability or handicap.

WARD SUMMER BASH (CLINTON WARD FESTIVAL) – Saturday, Aug. 28, Walking Track in Ward. Begins at 4 p.m. Cruise-in featuring cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles; Bingo with great prizes at 5 p.m.; Steele Justice will take the stage at 7 p.m. playing the best in variety. Food, fun and fellowship.
