Dr. Beth Gordineer and the staff at the Peach Tree Medical Center celebrated their first year in business last week with a drop-in and refreshments on Wednesday afternoon.

“Things have gone really well and been better than expected,” said Dr. Gordineer. “We’ve had good support from the hospital and we’ve seen lots of new patients. We’ve seen more and more people come in who live in the community, but who have not been treated or seen by anyone here in the community before, so that’s exciting and we’re very happy about that.”

Nurse Practitioner Anne Geddes, who started working at the Peach Tree Medical Center after the start of the new year, says the center has certainly fulfilled her expectations.

“It’s just a nice place to work,” she said. “I like the community aspect of it and all of the family connections. It’s really grown tremendously just in the time since I’ve been here.”

The center will also see an expansion of its work opening in Ridge Spring on October 5th with the grand opening of the Peach Tree Medical Center there.

Dr. Gordineer said the center would be looking to add more staff members as the number of patients continues to grow over the next several months.

“We’re excited about (Ridge Spring),” Dr. Gordineer said. “We’re looking forward to serving the people of Ridge Spring the same way we’ve served people here in Edgefield.”

Food for Wednesday’s drop-in was provided by Park Row Market, Bobby Brawner, the Edgefield County Hospital and the staff of the Peach Tree Medical Center.
