The Rev. Debbie McCain led the blessing of Gabriel Adam Hair on Saturday during the grand opening of the new hair establishment on Lynch Street in Edgefield.

The business is located in the building formerly occupied by Edgefield Floral and will be run by Gladys Mason. The salon promises quality and affordable hair care in a professional environment.

“We join today to witness the blessings of God in this place,” said McCain. “We rejoice that God has made it possible for Gladys and her family to find a suitable place to operate her beauty salon.”

She concluded with, “We consecrate this place, committing this place to God’s guidance and care to all who work here and all who come here to support this business.”

Mason, who works for the Sheriff’s Office in Edgefield, gave thanks to her minister, her family, her staff and friends who all made it possible for her to realize her goals.

“My husband and I were talking,” she said. “And I said I’d like to have a beauty salon.”

She said they stumbled upon the building and after a lot of prayer, decided to give it a try.

“We named it Gabriel Adam after both our sons—it’s their middle names,” she said. “We’ve been working on it since October. We’ve done a lot of cosmetic work to the building.”

Mason said she rents booths to cosmetologists and still has some for rent. She eventually hopes to bring in a nail technician.

“I encourage everyone to come give us a try,” she said. “It’s a nice, comfortable, new look in town.”
