Forest View Manor News

First Byline:
Mark Nixon

Well, there went January!

Did anybody see it? What is it about getting older that makes the calendar spin? I hear some people talk about things they do to "pass the time".

Boy, they need to come hang out with us a while!
We had a great week at Forest View. Jimmy Locklair came and ate lunch with dad James Locklair. Annie Wright was visited by her granddaughter Kirstan Rollings and great grandkids John and Chase Rollings. Juanita Bartley and Ann Brewer came out Wednesday and led us in some singing, with help from Jean Wells and Vivian Crawford.

Lunette Christie kept things moving this week with devotions, Bingo (with treats), and lots of nail polish, hand lotions, and plenty of other pampering.

Elaine Baggett came out last weekend and delivered one of her signature desserts. Thanks, Elaine, for keeping us sweetened up!

Rev. Eldredge Kelly and his wife Vivian from McCormick Presbyterian Church came last Sunday and led a devotion and time of worship for our residents. We appreciate Rev. Kelly and our other local church representatives who fellowship with us on a regular basis.

Something funny happened ...
Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents.
At bedtime, the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers when the youngest one began praying at the top of his lungs.
"I PRAY FOR A BICYCLE ... I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO ... I PRAY FOR A NEW VCR..."
His older brother leaned over and nudged the younger brother and said, "Why are you shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf."
To which the little brother replied, "No, but Gramma is!"

Happy Birthday to Lynn Moss on 2/2(it's a big one, so ask her), Molly Kelly on 2/3, and Mary Hall on 2/10!
