Brown - Huiet Wedding

Nancy Hansford Brown and Dr. James Frederick Huiet III, both of Charleston, were married Jan. 10, 2009 at St. Philip's Church in Charleston.

The 6 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Revs. Shay Gaillard and Alan Wilson.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reece Edward Brown of Athens, Ga. is the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Gaines Harrell Mason of Ruffin, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Reece Edward Brown of Charlotte, N.C. She earned a B.S. in psychology from Sanford University, an M.S. in professional counseling from Georgia State University and is employed by Christian World Adoption in Charleston.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Frederick Huiet Jr. of Columbia, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Toney Boatwright and Mr. James Frederick Huiet and the late Mrs. Huiet of Trenton.

He earned a B.S. in biology from Wofford College, an M.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and is an internist at the V.A. Medical Center in Charleston.

Matron of honor was Celia Brown Layman, sister of the bride, of Harrisonburg, Va. Bridesmaid was Candler Huiet Tindall, sister of the groom, of Charlotte, N.C. Junior bridesmaid was Erin Grace Layman.

Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Terri Burnette, Mrs. Noelle Davis, Mrs. Ronni Deaton, Mrs. Meredith Hoban, Mrs. Emily Hull, Dr. Laura Lee Kinney, Ms. Jackie Koesters, Mrs. Marney McNall, Ms. Kathy Pyle, Dr. Virginia Richards, Mrs. Malissa Sandhu, Ms. Kathryn West, Ms. Marie White and Dr. Lucy Yarbrough.

The groom's father was best man. Groomsman was Dr. Barton Cox Brezina.

Ring bearers were Nathaniel Reece Layman and James Reynolds Tindall.

Ushers were Mr. Tripp Davis, the Rev. Ted Hamm, Mr. Travis Layman, Mr. Greg Oliver, Mr. Lee Pitts, Dr. Gary Starr and Mr. Robbie Tindall.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Francis Marion Hotel.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in St. Lucia and now resides in Charleston.
