It's Saturday afternoon and I have just placed the "finishing" touches on the 2009 Graduation Edition, which will hit newsstands and paper racks this Wednesday.

It's a project that most newspaper folk do not look forward to, as it is a tedious process.

However, it's hoped that the end result - printing the picture of each high school senior in the county - will give seniors and their family members something to hang onto. Strom Thurmond will graduate 191 seniors according to the information I was given, while Fox Creek has 61 graduates.

Those two graduations will take place this week (FC on Thursday and ST on Friday).

Wardlaw Academy held its graduation for nine seniors last week.

This morning my family turned out for little Sara's first gymnastics competition at Aiken Gymnastics, which produced national champion and famed "Gym Dog" Grace Taylor at the University of Georgia.

Sara has been training now for around nine months and she is showing promise.
